Haute-Vienne is a department in the Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes region of France. The Haute-Vienne department has a lot to offer any history enthusiast. Remnants from both the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic eras have been discovered here and there are burial chambers and standings stone to be visited here. Archaeologists have also discovered Bronze Age artefacts. There are two Regional Natural Parks; The Perigord-Limousin and The Millevaches. These are not to be missed, along with museums and historic monuments. The Vassiviere Lake (one of France’s largest artificial lakes) is in the Haute-Vienne.
